SINOTECH+Overview
The SINOTECH+ everolimus-eluting stent is a cylindrical cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr) mesh framework with a waved open-cell design and an everolimus drug coating. Delivered folded on a balloon catheter, it is expanded at the stenosis to restore blood flow, while the drug coating treats the artery wall and helps prevent excessive tissue growth (restenosis). It should be used only by physicians experienced in PTCA and stent implantation.

Intended use
Cardiac surgery. The SINOTECH+ everolimus-eluting coronary stent system is indicated for Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) — the permanent dilation of the stenotic portion of a native coronary artery by placement of a coronary stent, to improve myocardial perfusion. For use only by physicians with significant experience in PTCA and stent-implantation procedures.
How it's used
Coronary stents are cylindrical, drug-coated mesh frameworks inserted into narrowed sections of an artery to expand them. Cholesterol plaque can accumulate and reduce — or completely block — blood flow, starving the heart muscle of oxygen. The stent is delivered folded over a balloon catheter to the lesion and expanded, widening the vessel and restoring flow; the antiproliferative drug coating then treats the artery wall and helps prevent excessive tissue regrowth (restenosis).
